OBAN’S Kebabish Curry House has been awarded with a Healthy Living award for a second time.

The restaurant first received the accolade in 2013 and again in October of 2015 after a Healthy Living award assessors assessed the establishment and deemed them to meet the healthyliving standards.

Shaukat Anwar Chaudhry, Kebabish managing director, said: ‘It’s a great achievement. It’s a great feeling when you win something like this and proud to be serving my local community.

‘After winning, I was invited by Healthy Living to give a seminar at the Restaurant and Takeaway Business (RTB) Live event in Glasgow last month.

‘The award is supported by the Scottish Government and NHS Health Scotland and I am proud to be part of the team supporting a healthier Scotland to encourage people to eat better feel better.’

In order to receive a Healthy Living award a restaurant’s menu must meet the criteria, which includes using healthier ingredients and preparation methods, reducing the fat, salt and sugar.

‘This achievement illustrates a clear commitment from Mr Chaudhry to make healthier catering the norm in his business.
